National Women’s Health Network:
A Legacy of Advocacy
For 50 years, the National Women’s Health Network was a pioneering and powerful voice for women’s health. This legacy site celebrates the Network’s victories, honors its leaders, and connects future generations to its history.
This website was conceived of by Cindy Pearson. I worked at the Network for 32 years and was the executive director for almost 25 years. The Network ceased operating on December 31, 2024, a few years after I retired. After the Network’s website was taken down, I wanted to create a site where people could easily find some basic information about the Network and its accomplishments. This is not an official NWHN website! It’s also not a comprehensive overview. Much of the Network’s history is still on paper and not easily shared online. Grace Doan created the site design and several long-time members of the Network’s board of directors gave me useful input. Any mistakes are mine.
