The Enabler

Grace, from what I can tell:

Entrepreneur, project manager, health activist, and talented designer, Grace Doan is responsible for the tone and spirit of the nwhnlegacy.org website.

When pressed, Grace will admit that she’s always been a phantom volunteer, doing things in the shadows for causes and people she cares about. The nwhnlegacy website is just one of Grace’s many volunteer projects.

She heard me talk about my dream of having a website to celebrate the NWHN and jumped right in.

Well, maybe jumped isn’t the right word, because our “build the website” conversations took place when Grace was on ladders, in coffee shops, stringing electrical wires, and planning enormous birthday parties. Despite the awkward locations, Grace had the presence of mind to convince me to abandon my bland third-person voice and instead start telling stories. We shared many stories, including both having been spanked for not sitting still in elementary school.

Grace is still “everywhere,” including being essential to the creation of this site. And who knows, Grace may have worked on something else you love.
